Throughout the project, daily training sessions were developed for participating young people and adults, with the aim of developing knowledge and techniques of the sport, in addition to social integration, raising self-esteem, encouraging the practice of physical activity, developing reasoning, emotional and psychological balance, working physical and motor aspects that promote health, well-being and body awareness. All with the aim of improving the health, social inclusion and cognitive, motor and organic functions of the participants.
What is the GADECAMP project?
The GADECAMP project aims to bring basketball in wheelchairs to young people and adults aged 16 to 32 with physical disabilities, aiming to raise the level of sport in the category.
GADECAMP is affiliated with the São Paulo Federation of Basketball on Wheels and Confederation, in addition to being a partner of several institutions such as the Emicol Electro Electronics.
Practiced since the beginning of the Group's activities, Wheelchair Basketball is the flagship of this institution, which today has athletes of different ages, from beginners to high performance. In the initiation, students are directed to basketball in wheelchairs, always aiming at the renewal of the main team of the modality to participate in State, Regional, National and International Championships.

Pandemic training
Due to the pandemic, as of March 2020, face-to-face training was suspended, with the help of technology, the planning was adapted and the training was conducted online through the Zoom platform in order to keep everyone safe and also the physical and psychological conditioning of the participants. The training sessions were designed and monitored virtually by the team's technical committee. Psychological consultations were carried out individually in order to maintain the privacy of each athlete.

Social: Social integration, cultivating and incorporating important and basic concepts such as: society, community, companionship and leadership. It is intended, with these benefits, to raise self-esteem, provide subsidies to encourage studies and encourage the practice of physical activities to combat the sedentary lifestyle that is very common among people with physical limitations and, above all, make them true citizens;
Cognitive: Development of reasoning, emotional and psychological balance;
Engines and Organics: Work on physical and motor aspects that promote health, well-being and body awareness, with the aim of reducing the risk of illnesses caused by sedentary lifestyles and encouraging the acquisition of healthy habits that improve quality of life.
Championships and awards
The GADECAMP team competed in the 2019 São Paulo Championship and was classified as the third best team in the state of São Paulo. The team also competed in the 2019 Brazilian Championship and took the podium in third place.
In addition to the results in the championships, the team was awarded individual awards: two team athletes were selected from the All Star (5 best players in the league). These were: Renato and José Marcos. José Marcos also won the championship basket trophy.
